I did the 5:2 last year, felt great and lost over a stone during the summer. Not quite sure what happened towards the end of the year but I bascially gave up making any effort and the weight has gone back on...and then some.

Weighed myself this moring. 10st 12lbs. Am 5ft 6ins......and going on holiday in 3 weeks.

I am going to fast Tue, Thu, Sat for the next couple of weeks, will also continue this after the holiday as I want to get back to the way I felt last summer.

I'm going to be logging on here regularly to keep a record but also to be honest with myself. I'm tired of joining threads or writing out lists for myself in diaries and notebooks and never keeping them updated or being really honest.

Hope to pick up some hints and tips as I've lurked in this section for a while and know there are a lot of you who are really clued up on fasting and more importantly feeling great on it.

I will do it this time.

Give it 100% for those 3 weeks. You have the motivation.

. Plan and calorie count FDs in advance
. mfp and roughly plan your NFDs too so you keep to TDEE.
. Absolutely NO binges
. Cut out alcohol, crisps, sweet junk - choc bars, bix, baked goods etc
. Swap white carbs for complex, e.g. try quinoa, have brown rice, wholegrain bread, pasta instead of white
. Concentrate on protein and veg, with moderate portions of complez carbs
. Exercise vigorously 5 days per week. Include some HIIT, strength training

Then enjoy your holiday
