Fasting / 5:2 diet

Need to lose half a stone, and keep it off! Is the 5:2 for me?

That's it really. A friend has lost 2 stone and is now doing 6:1 and he found it doable.

Although I don't have loads to lose this half stone just won't budge AND I've just joined a gym (and am going to it!)

I thought I would give it a bash just for fun really a couple of weeks ago.. not really for . losing weight, I just don't want to gain anymore.

I was shocked at how easy it was.. The first couple of fasts when it gets a bit trying, just knowing you can eat normally tomorrow helps you see it through.

I don't know if I've lost much as I don't like scales but my bras and waistbands are a lot more comfortable than they usually are.

I needed to lose a stone when I started.
I did that in a term and have been at my "happy" weight for 15 months now.

Is it achievable when breast feeding?

I'd love to shift 7kg, but it's just not going anywhere at the moment.

yup, but only fast at 750 calories - there's a thread about BF & 5:2 somewhere on the board ......

Me and DH have decided to do it together! He needs to lose about 1 1/2 stone.

Where's the best place to find ideas for the fasting days?

Also, are there any websites that give you calorie counts for lots of different foods?

I also fast with DH - it's a huge help having both do it. I think most of us find calorific values and track using My Fitness Pal, but there are calorie values at the back of Dr Mosley and Mimi Spencer's book and some great starter menus. Loads of tips and inspiration on here of course! Good luck.

Antidote I'm breastfeeding DD2, who is ten weeks. I have 750 cals on the first FD of the week (Monday for me like lots of us) and up to 1000 on the 2nd as I seem to be tireder on a Thursday as DD1 home all day!
