nexplanon contraceptive implant - bleeding

I had the implant put in in mid March this year. I was still breastfeeding exclusively so my periods hadn't returned. I can't remember when they did now but I had a couple of irregular bleeds. my concern is that I've been bleeding pretty much every day since the first week of September. it's not heavy but enough to have to wear some sort of sanitary protection. and its almost constant (ie every time i ise the loo theres fresh blood) no clots but I'm just wondering if this is normal? I'm feeling tired but not sure if that's just because I've a 3 yo and a 1yo. if anyone has had any experience of this, when did the bleeding settle down? it seems strange that it was fine for 6 months and then not? should i see the gp or will they just say i should give it a bit longer to settle down?

I had this on the implant an few years ago. Had to have it removed.

I had this too, it wasn't after a pregnancy but the bleeding was almost nonstop! And the hormonal changes that went along with it, I put up with it for two years and had it taken out.

I got the implant in June and have bled almost constantly since! I've had the odd week of no bleeding but the rest of the time it's like a constant period, though not as heavy as my periods used to be. The nurse told me this is common and if it's bothering me then they can give me the pill to take alongside it but the extra hormones puts me off doing this as I found I was so irritable the first couple of months after getting it x

I had the same. I attributed the delay to breastfeeding too. It just got worse until I had it removed. Now I'm happily on the mini pill (touching lots of wood for luck!)

thanks for everyone's replies. I thought it had settled down as I had a day of not bleeding but it's started again 🙄I did end up going to the gp after ringing nhs 111. he basically said it was normal but I could have an examination and possibly a scan to rule anything else out. I didn't feel up to an examination but may go back and see a female gp. I think I'll see how I go for now after reading these replies, who knows it may all settle down...
