Mirena Coil?? Hormonal Headaches

I suffer horrendously from awful headaches at the time of my periods - from the day before I start, the day I start, then when I'm 'flowing' (sorry if tmi) & during I'm fine, then when I finish my migraine returns with a vengeance for about 3 or 4 days - it's awful. My head feels like I've been hit with a bat. I don't get any other pain, maybe a tiny bit of back ache. I have the Evorel patches that I've been using for a couple of years but they have been ineffective now.

My GP mentioned the Mirena coil the last time I saw her, but I've heard horror stories, just wanted to hear all stories, good & bad!
