Can't get through to the doctors receptionist so I thought I'd see if I could get an answer here.

Coil check due today, what happens? I've unexpectedly had my period start and it's pretty heavy. Does it matter or should I reschedule?

Thankyou!

When did you get it put in? I think they just check for the strings tbh and ask how you are getting on with it. Or they may ask if you can feel them

It's my six week check. I'm happy for them to check the strings as is. I just don't want to go all the way there and waste everyone's time.

It's just a strings check and a general chat about how you're getting on, any bleeding, side effects. It might be better to wait until you've stopped bleeding, it will just be easier to see the strings although if you came in to see me I would still try and find them (if you wanted).

Hi, don't know if I'm in the right place but maybe you can help me. I had my first copper coil fitted last Wednesday, initial fitting was uncomfortable but nothing major found that if I stayed relaxed I'd be fine & I was. Felt a little light headed afterwards but no pain .. My question is have you ladies had any side affects? I bled very light for a few days & that's seemed to have stopped but I am getting some light discharge & yesterday there was some what I could describe jelly like discharge, Yano as if your bloody show had gone before labour (I've had two children) I don't know if this is Normal or not lol I can't see my doctor until Tuesday with it being bank holiday tomorrow.

Any advice would be great :)
