Cerazette...worth persevering?

Hi all,

I'm just wondering whether anyone has anything positive to say about cerazette? I've been taking it for about three months now (tried it due to breastfeeding), and I've been having really erratic bleeding that is getting quite tiresome (for instance, bleeding non-stop now for three weeks and starting to feel exhausted...) Other than that I feel fine. Is it worth persevering with it until it settles down?

Thanks for any thoughts...

I was on cerazette for 5 years before Ttc but initially took about 5 or 6 months before random bleeding stopped and then Bleeding stopped completely! Only time it would randomly come back would be if I took pill at a different time of day but Deffo worth persevering I say :) xx

Hmm when I first started Cerazette I used to get erratic bleeding and headaches, until I decided to come off it. Then I had DD, and went back on it and had no problems for the first two years, but now I've started again with random fortnight-long periods, bleeding like a period after sex, headaches, mood swings, horrible horrible cramps... I'm going to the GP this week to rule out anything more sinister but I think it's the Cerazette. I am quite seriously overweight though, the nurse told me at my last pill check that that can affect it.

Hmm... yes, seems to be one extreme or the other!

I might plough on for another month or so and then see. Thanks for your thoughts!

I took it for a few years and never had a period, which made a very nice change. I had some symptoms of blood clotting at that stage so came off it.

Don't think so. I was on it for a long time after childbirth and the random and annoying bleeding NEVER stopped.

I moved on to nacrez as was no longer bfing. That gave me spots.

I am on the combined pill now.

I hope the doctor can recommend something to help you Grin
