Hey, so today I went for a scan to check pelvic area as doc suspected I had Pcos so she wanted a scan done too. While there I was asked if they could do an internal which I obviously said yes to, it took about 10 mins and I'll be honest was a bit painful. Turns out the sonographer found some fibroids, no idea on size etc but all my symptoms match it so I'm guessing (from what I have looked up) it's not the straight forward case I hoped for and because of the symptoms I'll, somehow be treated. Still having a bit of pain now too, I assume it's cos she irritated some bits (internally)
Anywhoo, I'd like to know if anyone has had fibroids? And your experiences please???
Xx

Hi Cat yes I had/have fibroids.

They were diagnosed during a explorative laparoscopy where it was thought I had endometriosis.

Mine were small in size (I think the largest was 2cm), there was one on the neck of my cervix, which was removed and the ones within my cervix were left.

If you're worried about conceiving, I was told I could ttc after I had a period after the op in October 2010I had a period at the end of December 2010 and started ttc mid January 2011 and conceived within a couple of weeks and DD1 was born October 2011.

I had extra scans during pregnancy to monitor my fibroids and they caused no problem, I was also lucky enough to conceive DD2 very quickly, and again the fibroids were no problem during my pregnancy.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I'm not worried about conceiving, thank God. I'm just worried about treatment, I have pain and awful periods so I know that it's classed as symptomatic fibroids. I ha e an appointment Friday to see what happens x
