Marina coil, experience/advice

I'm getting the marina iud fitted tomorrow and would be grateful for any advice about what I can expect from the experience i.e pain etc. I asked a friend for advice who has had it done herself and says she had very little pain and was absolutely fine throughout. However I know this isn't the case for all women who have the procedure done and since I have a job interview Wednesday morning I'm feeling rather anxious about it now! Any advice would be helpful. Thanks Smile

I found it didn't hurt, was just uncomfortable. It's more the awkwardness of sitting legs akimbo and my doctor teaching the trainee so it took a little longer than normal. About 40 minutes. Afterwards a little cramping, nothing major, it was more the awareness it was there IYSWIM.

Three years on I have no periods, no cramps, clearer skin and it's stopped some of the bloating. Best thing I did. Hope all goes well tomorrow. Thanks

Good luck for tomorrow
I had mine put in January.

Cramping for me was like a full on contraction for like 1/2 second lol.
Then I bled a little for a few days
periods arw a lot lighter
after having it in I bled for around 5 weeks.

Ive become more bloated I think. But beatsgetting ppregnant atm so im happy with it.
Its not that bad good luck with the job interview too.

Ps after having mine put in I went into town and did some major shopping lol so cant be too bad!

Thank you, hopefully I have the same experience then lol! Got someone coming along with me for support jut incase it's quite sore, I'm hoping it's going to help me with the weight gain I've had after the depo injection (2stone in 2years) but the nurse advised me this is definitely the best option, so fingers crossed! I'm just a stress head tho and always expect the worst Smile
