Periods post labour

I may be in the wrong section here but here goes.
I had my baby 6 m ago and only breast fed 2 wks. My periods began about 4 wks later and were regular and heavy until my last one. The last one was very light and seemed to drag on for a few more days than usual.
I was due my next one 2 days ago and no sign of it yet. I'm partly worried incase of pregnancy - but think so unlikely as rarely have sex and always use a condom. Also, I had big painful boobs last time I was pregnant.
Is it quite common for periods to suddenly reduce in flow and increase in cycle length 6 m post baby? Or should I be concerned and do a prego test.

No point in doing a test so soon a negative result will mean nothing. Perhaps act as if you might be eg drinking/smoking/medicating etc but do a test in a few weeks or if you miss next one as well. If you can hold out that long that us!!!!i
