Copper coil and breastfeeding

I've just had a copper coil fitted - DS2 is 11 weeks old. I keep reading that the first few periods are heavier and then they settle down, but last time I didn't get my periods back until ds1 was 13 months. Does anyone know whether, if the same happens this time, my periods are likely to be problematic at tha4 stage, in 11 months time? Or should things have settled down?

I had mine fitted 12 weeks post partum, my periods didn't return until after I finished breastfeeding about 15 months later and even with the copper coil in they were just normal periods. I think that by the time my periods returned my body was totally used to the coil that there were no unusual / heavy periods.

I was the same, my GP recommended it while I was breastfeeding, she said I should have less issues with heavy painful periods, it worked that way for me.

I had the coil fitted about 7 month pp and when my periods returned at 13 months pp they were normal.

I had mine fitted 12 weeks pp, bled like a pig for 2 weeks, and then every 21 days for a week, despite breastfeeding. Replaced it wit Cerazette - no bleeding, no BF probs either
