How long have ppl been waiting for their results? DD took hers 4 weeks ago and still no news. Nerve-wrecking! Called them - they said they got the recording etc but still assessing.

Theory takes 28 days for results to come through. Abrsm have in the last few minutes released results from 19th June - my dad passed grade 6 - very proud

Oh wow - thank you for letting me know! My DD took hers on 20 June - so Monday probably then, fingers crossed!

Ooh-dd took grade 5 on 19/6. Hopefully they'll come soon-tomorrow is exactly 28 days and I've been checking...

Still not there! It's the complete opposite with practical exams, it seems, although I do appreciate more needs checking. Piano exam results Monday after exam on Friday!

Good luck @IDontGetOutMuch!

Hope so, re: pratical exam. My DD had her cello exam today - and I did badly as her accompanist Sad Sad Sad
Her teacher should've accompanied her but she didn't want to because of COVID and I didn't spend enough time learning the accompaniment and messed up in 1 piece in a few places. Hope they don't downgrade her because of that, as she did fine.

My dd took g5 theory on 12/6 (a Saturday) and got her result on Monday just gone so 4 weeks and 2 days. Interestingly if I log into her account (that we set up after she took the test so that we could stalk for results!) it still says pending but her teacher got notified and texted me.

Well done for accompanying your dd! I'm
afraid my children will never be able to have that from me. You weren't taking the exam, she was, so it wouldn't be fair for it to affect her.

Ooh- Queen Mabby...that makes me hopeful, although I imagine dd's teacher will let me know as soon as she knows, so I imagine no result yet!

@QueenMabby - did her teacher enter her? As I entered he myself so nobody else to notify but me! But same for me, still shows as pending.

Thank you @IDontGetOutMuch - hope so!

DD's teacher has one other student for grade 5 theory this session and hadn't heard their mark either.

Frogusha - she was entered by school but did it online at home. I used her log in details to create an account for her but it’s not updated although I can see the result for her g5 performance exam she took last autumn…

Still waiting for a G5 taken on the 23rd here.

DS took G3 theory on 19/6 and the result was online this morning, so exactly 4 weeks.

Congratulations @IDontGetOutMuch! We did too, at exactly 4 weeks (on Sunday)! Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear, not long left now!

Can I ask how your children found the exam? My son is G2 piano, G4 sax and about to take G8 singing (which doesn't require theory exam as you are tested on the theory orally at each grade).

He needs to get the G5 theory exam done at some point for his instruments, his teacher wanted him to do it in the first week of the holidays but we then discovered you had to have applied in May to do it in July! Sigh!
So, how tough did your children find it, doing it online...? He hasn't taken any theory exams before, but obviously has to do this to progress past G5 in his instruments.

Well, I think it very much depends on your child. Also, a certain amount on how thoroughly you do it. I think, in hindsight, I would have paid less for theory lessons and risked dd scraping a pass or having to resit. As lovely as it is for her to have got a distinction in grade 5 theory, it's also been a lot of lessons! I know it'll have stuck better than when I did it though-I just did workbooks marked by my instrumental teacher!

My dd didn’t have any formal theory lessons. Her piano teacher did some informally as they went along and set her pages of the abrsm theory workbooks to do for “homework”. I don’t think it’s massively difficult esp if your dc has done some as they’ve gone along. There’s some sets on quizlet for fun revision.

It was a mix of about 20 half lessons from DD’s piano teacher and then just going through the ABRSM books herself. We will see today how that worked out 😬
