RCS - anybody have any views

One of my DC hs been offered a scholarship at RCS. They will be a vocal (opera) student if they accept the offer.

Does anybody have any experience of RCS/Glasgow. The uni/programme in general?

We arent living in the UK, so don't have any first hand experience. Would love to hear from anybody who does?

Well it's a welcoming building, been to lots of events there, know a couple of staff but no idea about studying there. Would imagine there are quite a lot of opportunities. It's a good city for students.

It's what used to be called the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama (dh auditioned there years ago). We have a friend currently studying on the opera course and dd knows several who studied on their ballet course. Dh knows a couple of people who teach on their Musical Theatre course

It has always had a very good reputation.

Great reputation, very prestigious. Glasgow is a great city to be a student in.

I've only heard of them in regard to their dance courses, and they have a good reputation for that.

My ds was at a dance audition there yesterday and we got really good vibes from the place. Everyone we’ve spoken to there only has good things to say about it.

I know several people there for music, both Senior and Junior and it's all positive.

I also know some young people studying elsewhere in Glasgow and they love the city.
