The Swan; any cellists know what grade this version would be?

Are there any cellists out there who might be able to help? DS is in the process of choosing a couple of pieces for an upcoming music festival. He will be doing two grade 5-6 standard classes, one asks for a piece from the the Trinity or ABRSM syllabus which is easy enough but the other is own choice and he and would really like to play Saint Saens "The Swan" for that class. He has a copy of the sheet music along with the piano part already which is really useful but the version he has is transposed from the original tenor clef to bass clef. The original version is on the grade 7 trinity syllabus but I would expect that the bass clef transposition would be at least a couple of grades easier but maybe more? The version DS has is exactly the same as the free version available on 8Notes (discovered this whilst trying to Google the answer to my question earlier) if anyone is willing and able to have a quick look and it is listed there as being intermediate level but there is no indication on the website as to what grade range that equates to. DS loves the piece and is beginning to play it really nicely so performing it isn't a problem (he's currently grade 5 standard) but without knowing roughly what grade standard the piece is considered to be it's difficult to know whether it would be suitable. DS teacher is away in the US teaching until September so I've not been able to ask him unfortunately. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks.

The Swan is iconic and one of my fav cello pieces, but can I throw a spanner in the works and ask you to listen to Brian Cane's cello and piano duet called Song For Sienna...... You can buy the music for that on line. It's a stunning piece.

I'll ask DD when she's up (so no time soon!). She's only been playing a couple of years-ish so I'm not sure if she'll know the answer, but I do know she likes The Swan.

Hi, it's a long time since I did my grades (but did all of them!), but having looked on 8notes I would say that version would be at least grade 5 given the key it is in and how high it goes, so should be absolutely fine. Hope he enjoys performing at the festival!

I think it used to be an ABRSM Grade 6 piece. Don't know which version

Oh wow, thanks so much for the helpful responses! Thanks for the suggestion MidLife I absolutely will have a listen to that later with DS (am at work at the moment otherwise I would have Googled it now :-) as it would be really nice to play something that wasn't quite so iconic I think. The festival adjudicator for the strings classes this year is a very well known cellist so playing something that is so much part of the fabric of a cellists repertoire might not be the best choice as they will know it inside out and back to front and the slightest mistake will really stand out!
LesLevandes yes I found it listed on the old Grade 6 list for ABRSM but couldn't establish which version that was either. I suspect that will be the tenor clef version as tenor clef starts to be introduced at grade 5 on their syllabus. Thanks again for all the help everyone, very much appreciated!
