On the ABRSM certificate, it says "certificate folder has been awarded xxx credits."
I have no clue what it is for.
Can anyone tell me what is it for?

I think they count towards ucas points when applying to university - they apply to grades 6 7 8 if it's the credits I'm thinking about ( there were some on Ds's grade 7 certificate

Thank you. I had a look on ABRSM website, and saw that Grade 6/7/8 count as UCAS points. But wasn't sure for purpose of credit for lower grades, since my ds is only grade 2.

Grades 1-3... GCSE grades D to G (under the old grading system anyway). Grades 4-5... GCSE Grades A* to C. In difficulty only, not breadth! They are Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications, like GCSEs. Just not quite so big.

Thank you. I have no clue on qualification system in England, and couldn't answer my ds when he asked me what it was.

Credits tell you the size of the qualification. 1 credit equals 10 hours of learning.
