Creating games on ipads - after hopscotch....?

My dd is 10 and loves creating movies on imovie and games on hopscotch on her ipad. I'm fairly techy but have no idea if there is an app beyong hopscotch that will help her understand a bit more game creation and possibly coding beyond the drag and drop stuff. Any thoughts?

I don't know about apps, but see if you can get her along to a Stemettes event. They do some great ones for budding techies :-)

Thanks. They sound good but we live in Texas..... Am signing her up for a trial session at our local robotics academy for after school club.....

Ah, yes... Stemettes a long way for you then!

One would expect that the US would be more involved in this than the UK!

If you can, use a 'proper' computer rather than an i-pad, as the keyboard will be easier to use, and it will have a greater range of facilities and more storage.

The robotics trial should be able to suggest many other avenues open to students, in all aspects of computer science, coding etc. Good logic and maths ability is also useful.
