Brexit

Will there be "anything to declare" lines again?

I'm old enough to remember my DM and DF talking through whether what we were bringing back to the UK from our holiday abroad meant we should go through the "anything to declare" exits. This was by car at ferry or hovercraft terminals and we'd have lots of food fags and booze.

Plus the limits on what one could bring home when flying - 200 cigs and a bottle of spirits if I recall.

Come Brexit, will these be restored?

They are still there, aren't they. Just people don't realise that's what Green Channel/Red channel is.

They are still there. They just don't apply within the E.U.

Yes, if we have a customs border between the uk and rEU people travelling across the uk border will need to go through a green or red channel again.

Yes.

And, should the government choose it, there could be limits on currency taken out of the country.

I don't know enough about that, but it was lovely when we returned from our EU holiday last year to join the short EU queue, and not have to join the non EU line that stretched back miles. That is going to be annoying.

@Socksontheradiator you won’t have a problem on returning to the UK assuming you’re British as there will still be a queue for British citizens. Whenever you go to an EU member state you’ll have the delays and restrictions on entering as you’ll be in the ‘rest of the world’ queue not the EU queue.
