Hi all. I believe i first heard of this podcast via the Westminstenders threads, which i have been lurking on since Feb.
I've listened to a couple (inc today's) and they seem to be tilted in favour of remain (I'm a remainer) but are trying to offer a balance of views with the guests they have.
I find it slightly irritating with all the giggling when they are pushed for time between klaxons, but apart from that, is this a decent way to learn more, or is it just fluff?
I don't always have time to read pages of threads and a podcast seems to be a good compromise.
I know its a busy Westminstenders week but I'd be grateful for thoughts.
Thanks :)

I listen to it regularly and find it very informative, and funny too (which takes the edge out of the anxiety of the topic, at least a little bit)

It's excellent. Love listening to it. I think they try hard to be pretty balanced. Unless being clever and asking questions automatically rules out the possibility that you support Leave?Grin
Not sure who my fave amongst them is but it is currently Katya Adler.

She let slip a couple of episodes ago that she’s got 3 kids. I wonder how she does it (this being a mumsnet, no harm in mixing a bit of parenting with politics, right?). These journalists had the 3 years of hell, following the situation...the panorama documentary which showed Laura K running around like crazy was quite impressive...;-)

The giggling can drive me mad, too, but most of their podcasts are not overly giggly. Given that LK is often chatting as she walks or taxis home from work (& she DOES stop when she reaches her front door), they are literally chatting at ends of very long days, no wonder slightly delirious. Mason has a new baby, Flemming got married recently. Heaven knows how they fit personal lives in.

The 2 correspondents (AF & KA) based in Brussels, their job is to communicate the EU perspective. That doesn't mean they agree or disagree. They just summarise. Journalists are meant to ask tough questions, be critical, and the UK's strategy for getting out of EU has huge amount to criticise about it.

Recently B'cast has had Euro-bashing Amber Rudd & JRM on, in fairly jovial form. It's meant to be light-hearted.

Just b/c LK says that BJ & Hunt were basically no different from each other doesn't mean she's biased; it's just observation, the pragmatic summary was that only difference in their PM offers and presentation to EU negotiations was personality.

Thank you I appreciate all your insights. I genuinely have only listened to a couple, and have yet to work out who's who Smile

james Delingpole does a very pro-Brexit right-wing podcast, if you are into that kind of thing.

Thanks but I'm not sure my brain could cope with that Smile

I really enjoy it. Although I do find it hard to follow sometimes. They are very careful not to reveal any basis. However, the subject matter means that the leave side can appear as it is - chaotic, conflicting and ludicrous. Although LK also occasionally pointed out some weaknesses of the EU's approach to the negotiations.
The remainiacs podcast is also very good. But blatantly remain. I like ian dunt and his analysis (although it took me a while to get used to the swearing).

I think it is brilliant, a quick and enjoyable way to keep up to date and the humour makes me feel better (I'm.gutted about Brexit generally).

Political Thinking by Nick Robinson, also on the Beeb, is brilliant too.

Hi socks I prefer listening to podcasts too it fits in with my life more easily. I do listen to a lot of political/Brexit ones. It’s a big ask but I listened to the whole back catalogue of Brexicast in January and it did help me understand a little better where the problems we are experiencing now and why May had her ‘Red lines’ in the first place. It also gives a European perspective.

Other ones I listen to are ‘Remaniacs’ can be a bit full on at times.

New European remainer biased and quite a few ‘in jokes’ which can be difficult to tap in to on a one off listen. as you would expect.

New Statesman quite enjoy I like Stephen Bush it’s an easy listen.

Spectator daily coffee house shots short but very pro Johnson as you would expect Although Isabelle Hardman is more balanced than Fraser Nelson.

Times Red Box quite short and reasonably balanced.

Telegraph Choppers Brexit Podcast ok not as biased as you would expect.

Political Thinking not specifically Brexit just interesting longer form interviews.

The Guardian Brexit one is only monthly so usually hopelessly out of date as things are moving so quickly.

Channel 4 politics where next ? Pretty good.

The Political Party with Matt Forde my current favourite he is unashamedly a Blairite but has a wide range of guests including those from behind the scenes the recent one with Deborah Mattinson about focus groups and polling is definitely worth a listen.its more entertainment than full on political thought but is definitely not an echo chamber.

If anyone knows of any others that are worth a listen I am open to suggestions.
