It's shaming and disgraceful. I lurch between bafflement and fury at the senselessness of it all.

If they try to.deport EU citizens who have made their lives here, own homes, have built up pension entitlement - the legal profession is going to make a killing.

But they were never going to be used as bargaining chips or pawns, they told us. Now it is a wait and see what move you make and then we'll see what move we make.

These are very dodgy people, IMO. I'm sure anyone making a deal with them will make sure they have everything written down and signed. Supping with a long spoon.

There will be carnage. The EU citizens will barricade themselves off in a big fortress with high walls they built for themselves and will fight to the death! EU citizen supporters will sneak in food and essentials for them, often dropped from helicopters. This will be punishable but they will risk it. There will be negotiations. EU supporting artists will give concerts at the wall lead by Bono and use the money raised to buy more food and essentials to the people behind the wall. Adele and Lily Allen will set up camp at the wall in protest. Colin Firth will be crying in front of the news cameras and demand rights to EU citizens.
I can't tell more, the rest is a bit hazy.

Another HO story: Indian and American couple, but
this bit jumped out:

In 2012, when she was home secretary, Theresa May enacted strict spousal visa rules. These requirements, which remain in force today, state that sponsoring spouses must earn a minimum taxable income of £18,600 per annum or have £62,500 in savings. The income of the foreign spouse cannot be included. If the couple has children, the threshold increases dramatically. If the sponsoring spouse is self-employed, as I am, the sponsor cannot include their savings to offset the threshold.

Currently, 40% of the country does not meet the spousal visa requirements. The rules are particularly disadvantageous for women, mothers and those living outside of the south-east, where incomes are notably higher. It is estimated that over 4,000 British children are currently separated from one of their parents due to these rules

4000 British kids separated from their parents due to these rules. Sad

And today:
Wife of stroke victim who needs 24hr care must leave UK while he cares for children

Leah Waterman told to return to Philippines despite medics agreeing that her husband cannot care for himself, let alone be sole carer to their children
