Agree, he must be gutted, not for himself but for what he has done.

For Brexiters, it is fortunate that we had such an incompetent Prime Minister. But for all the civil servants, the banks, the CBI, the EU political class, the global elite, the movers and shakers etc who had worked for 40 years to build their project, Cameron has brought it all to an abrupt end.

The banks do not have the power they once did, and so could not sway this one by manipulating the market.

Neither Cameron nor Corbyn have engaged the people enough on the benefits of Europe. The have brushed some very real problems under the carpet. I feel its time for new leadership.

If the remain camp want a second referendum not to leave then they need to do it by the ballot box, just like the leave camp got their opportunity for a referendum by the ballot box.

I don't feel sorry for him.

He was an arrogant man. It came and got him in the most awful way but he should have learned.

Politics has become so out of touch that many people have lost faith and believe they can't make a difference

The EU referendum was something which they felt they could make a difference about. Hence the huge turnout.

So I can only hope that the only good which will come of this will be a rethink of politics.

I do not feel sorry for him. I do not believe that he was really 'remain'. I believe he was already planning on leaving politics hence his acceptance of a place at Eton for his son. He has done some dreadful deal to stand aside... but yes his legacy will be terrible.

Also neither party over their years have invested in this country, squandering tax and not improving services, which have lead to all these pressures on services. So here we are with the knee jerk reaction blaming the symptoms not the cause.
