No British Army, No Navy and No RAF means no Sovereignty, no Nation. "God Save Juncker"

The Euro Army is accepted as inevitable in the EU. The veto can and will be bypassed. So no more British Army. Does that include the Navy? Apparently it does..

I guess it would explain why the RAF has been having a hard time too.
Next time you sing "God Save the Queen" change it to "God Save Juncker".

Unless you vote Leave. I guess it's down to if you want to be a UK citizen or a citizen of Europe.

How are the RAF "having a hard time too?"

Accepted as inevitable by whom? My understanding is that the UK has a veto over it, which will be unnecessary as there are other countries that are not happy with the idea either.

Unnecessary scaremongering.

"Der Welt is quite clear that the European Parliament is indeed about to approve an EU army and override national vetoes:

The European People’s Party has just discussed ambitious plans to reactivate the EU at a meeting in Nice. This begins with binding majority decisions against the veto of individual countries – and continues with Europe’s own army and national border protection."

My husband is in the RAF. The cutbacks are nothing to do with the EU. They were to do with the Tories. The closing of stations has been going on for years.

I'm not going to believe anything that UKIP put out.

Fairy procurement has been designed for years to furnish the Euro Army. Each country has been given a shopping list and the kit goes together!

The euro army isn't coming from UKIP (who I can't stand). Just google it, you will see for yourself.

Procurement for interoperability has been going on for years and is led by NATO. And is going unbelievably slowly!

As nearly all EU states are NATO members, I can see why it might look like a Europe issue, but it really isn't.

I've seen the scaremongering stories about the EU army.

We're going for a sun, sea and cocktails posting and DS1 (army) is going for a snowy one. Best of both worlds you see! We can't wait, either, for our houses to be brought up to scratch because there's no way the Eurpoeans will put up with the shit we have to! 🙄

My understanding is that the UK has a veto over it

That doesn't necessarily mean the veto would be used.

It also doesn't rule out the possibility of incentives (money or power?) being offered at some point in the future, in return for our acceptance of an EU army, joining the euro, becoming part of a superstate etc.

Somerville · 22/06/2016 11:13

Vetoes can't be overturned like that. And every single EU country has one over an army.

BUT... Imagine for a moment that your fear are right and a nameless EU committee of bureaucrats proposes an army and overturns our national veto. What would happen next? There would be riots in the streets! I'm pro-European with a passport from another EU country as well as UK, and I would be out protesting too! Our government - left or right - wouldn't accept it (because of the civil unrest AND because they would never be elected again if they did) and would whisk us out of the EU immediately.

There are reasons - mainly ideological - for which I can understand people voting leave, though I disagree with their ideology personally. But the fear of an EU army is not a good reason for anyone to vote leave.

Somerville the EU does whatever it wants, in the May 2015 the Tories in their manifesto specifically said they had a legal opt out from bailing out Greece, In July 2015 only 6 weeks later the EU ignored the opt out & forced us to pay to bail them out

Sorry op it has been explained several times why this won't happen. You've started other identical threads on this topic so you shouldn't be surprised that some of us are very dubious about your motives.

You are either incapable of understanding basic facts or you are deliberately peddling lies.

So which is it?

bkgirl · 22/06/2016 12:19

LikeDylanInTheMovies that is unfair. I really want the EU to make their announcement before the ref not just after. Think of it as trading standards! Why it is acceptable to buy blind I cannot understand especially when it does effect the security of the nation? So an explanation/spin is superfluous, we need honestly from decision makers. How on earth can we get it if we don't put those that govern us on the spot? How can we do that? By using public forums to ASK, to get other people to question. You deserve to know what you are voting for, everybody does. The lack of transparency and profusion of soundbites is appalling.

So, when the Euro Army goes ahead I guess it will be lots of excuses from those that denied the blindingly obvious. You won't have long to wait. Literally days.
Sadly, it will likely be too darn late. :(
Juncker is arrogant and chomping at the bit.
