Washing up liquid

So we have used solid soap for years, have just switched to solid shampoo, but is there an alternative for buying washing up liquid in plastic bottles.

Could you use the green fairy household soap and just grate a bit into the washing up bowl or is there a better alternative?

Fairy liquid has the warning 'harmful to aquatic life' so I stopped using it. Not sure if the soap is the same. I use Greenscents but it is in a white plastic bottle Sad

People used to use solid soap for washing up. My grandma had a little wire mesh basket thing that she filled with soap chips and used to swish about to make the water sudsy.

I use Splosh washing up liquid. One bottle and then I order a recyclable bag that's enough for 4 refills.
