Old bedding

I’ve got several old duvet covers, pillowcases, sheets etc that we no longer need.

Variable conditions, but some of the duvet cover sets are in very good condition.

Anyone know if charity shops usually take things like duvet covers?

Yy animal shelters and even zoos will use old bedding also charity shops

Both of my DDs’ sets of curtains and all bed linen came from charity shops. Money was tight so I did some rummaging and sorted in no time. Got 3 sets of lovely curtains (so our room too) for £27. Definitely donate them, you could really help someone out, and the charity too!

Yes they do because I rummage in them looking for cheap material for craft projects...

My borough has textile recycling. Bags available from the library.

If you're in a town or city then Freecycle or Freegle could work well - either people setting up homes or community groups will take it all.

Round here homeless charities and groups supporting refugees are keen to take bedding.

Thanks all for the suggestions of where to donate them.

Ive also checked the info for my local recycling centre, they do take textiles for recycling, but I’ll try the other suggestions first to see if the stuff in good condition can be passed along to someone who can make use of it.

I have just donated unwanted bedding of variable quality to my local hospice charity shop as I know that any sheets or duvet covers that they cannot sell as bedding because they are too thin etc, they can sell on as textiles so either way they will make money and the bedding is re-used in one form or another instead of going into landfill, so win win.
I should imagine a lot of charity shops have the same arrangement in place.

Charity shop Bernardo's take all bedding, duvets, towels etc in poor condition to go to be recycled to raise cash for the charity
