which sugar is more ethical?

Sugar beet grown in UK, or fairtrade sugar cane?

It depends what you value more: reduction in carbon emissions (UK sugar beet) or supporting communities in poorer countries (fair trade sugar cane), as with many things it's a trade off between two ethical choices.
Personally I'd go UK sugar beet, but food miles are my personal band wagon.

sugar beet, Silver Spoon, I think, it's produced more ethically too, I think.
