The letter is now printed; a copy forwarded to school e-mail too in case.
I have signed it, and folded it. Now need to find an envelope though.

As of the 4th April I will no longer be a secondary school teacher. TBH, that will actually start 2 weeks earlier though at 3:30pm, on Thursday 16th March - the next two weeks are Easter holidays.

One of the stress inducing issues I have - now ticked off.

Thanks to everyone on here who has supported me, and given me advice this year.

This time I will not allow school to talk me into going back. My health, and my sanity, is more important!

End of an era!

Woohoo! I bet that letter looks good...all crisp and full of promising futures once it's sent

You won't believe how good it makes me feel TBH. It is like a huge weight taken from me. Dh is fab for letting me take the risk too

Fingers crossed it won't be a risk though I have the application form for the Advisoers role at the prison I currently work at - would love it. Due in next Friday. If not, then let's make sure I really do get those 3 days a week at the prison like they've told me I will have.

Whatever, we will cope. Just glad to be out.

I resigned from a deeply unpleasant job after 20 months (the last 12 were hell) - I had no job to go to, I was ttc, had had surgery for very severe endometriosis three months before I resigned. You're in a good place now Hulababy - enjoy! (And enjoy their attempts to get you to stay - I know I did!).

(Got a MUCH better job just after I'd worked out my notice too - hurrah!)

Yes, aso TTC - hoping by removing the work stress, it may help with the TTC.

Good luck Hula - I'm sure I'd not have DS if I was still working with my evil bitch ex-boss.

As it was, I needed clomid to conceive, but only one cycle

TTC no 2 myself - bit halfheartedly (still bfeeding and have all-over-the-place cycle - have PCOS too which doesn't help!!) as DS is only 9 months old!

Congratulations Hula . Your health and family are way more important so just keep focused on that if they try and talk you into staying. I'll bet you'll feel so relieved once it's done.

Then onward and upward with the ttc - it could really be your week

Oh, and good luck with the application.

If only Rudy. Mind, not sure the prison would be so impressed - going there pg ;) Would also bring in that moral dilemma when going for an interview too! Eeek!

Katzguk - I will keep my eye out. I do know that Doncaster College were also advertising this week in TES.

The letter is with the Head right now. He asked asked me to go and see him at lunch time, seeing as my free registration and my free lesson have both me taken for cover

I took it to the Head direct first thing. Trouble is when I knocked and went in, whole of SMT were there having a meeting. So now they all know. Eeek!

How did the meeting go hulababy?

Report
Hulababy · 25/01/2005 21:50

I had been preped by a couple of female memebrs of SMT at how sad he was I was going and how he was likely to use the emotional stuff to try and get me to change my mind. When I did go, he also got one og the male assistant heads to sit in too. But as Ih ad been prepped I launched in with all my reasons for leaving. I was pretty honest too - but not critical or accusing IYSWIM. Told him about being fed up of not teaching, and only doing class room management, told him about the issues I have with Y9's behaviour, and about how I have been feeling gradually. Also said that I wished the staff the best of luck for the future, but that it wasn't to be my fture. Also made sure he knew I had set plans for Easter onwards.

After all that he was pretty much resigned to the fact that I was going and nothing would change my mind. He thanked me for being honest and for all my hard work. Sorry to see me go, etc. etc.

So, that's that. It's done.

I now have 13 full teaching days remaining.

Congrats Hula - what a relief! BTW, I finally conceived ds a fortnight after handing in my resignation. I am sure my stress levels would have prevented conception as long as I was working at my last school.
