How can I boost my CV

I have English, maths and religious studies GCSE and completed level 2 Health and Social Care at college.
I worked causally in a b&b from when I was 15. Age 22 now I work in a care home.

My cv doesn’t look that great with minimum qualifications and almost no experience. With 2 young kids I don’t really have time for full time courses at the moment but I need to do something to boost my CV. I’m thinking of applying to do science gcse at college this year. I’ve also been thinking about the open university as it would fit around my life.

Does anyone have any ideas of anything I can do to make my CV look better. Any online courses or anything?

I think it depends on what you really want to do as a job IMO. If health and care is where you want to be then I don't think science GCSE will add much on its own, if it will lead towards a relevant vocational qualification then that's different of course, but most NVQ type courses you would already be qualified for anyway. It might be that something skills based or perhaps some more/different work experience would be more relevant and open more doors for you. As you have limited time it would be a shame to waste time and effort on something that doesn't do much for you.

What is your ultimate aim and then perhaps someone on here with knowledge can advise on the best thing to do?

You really need a level 3 qualification. Perhaps there is something at your local college that can be done part time?

I did some online courses through London learning consortium (I’m not in London) and future learn which were free. It was good to get a taste of things to see if I wanted to do any more and helped me pick the next things I wanted to do.

I’ll have a look through the courses my local college have. I would have to be a part time course though

I’ll also have a look at London learning consortium and future learn. Do you add these courses onto your CV?
