Tomorrow I am handing in my notice and I am really worried. I moved away from my family a couple of months ago to live with my longterm partner, his career is very competitive so accepted a job about 2 hours away. I applied for a job in a care home and my DBS took 2 months to come though meaning I have officially only been working there 4 weeks. 3 days ago, my fragile mum with severe arthritis fell off a ladder and now needs a hip replacement and after that, a knee replacement. I dont feel comfortable living down here allowing my brother to take full responsibility of her care and would prefer to relocate so I can help take care of my mum. My employers are not easy to talk to and are very bitchy which is making me really nervous about handing in my notice. Do you think they will understand, is there a better way to approach it. I was not really enjoying the job as my line manager often bitchrd about people in our team making me very uncomfortable and would have considered leaving at some stage. I have never quit a job only after a month.
