Next week, I will be moving to the other side of the world to start a new life chapter. The move was always discussed but it was an employment opportunity for me which prompted DH and I into action. Therefore, right from the start, I've felt the pressure of it all hanging on me getting the job.
After a very lengthy and grueling recruitment process, I've got an offer and start date pending** successful completion of background checks by a screening company. This can take 4-6 weeks, and we are now in Week 4. Meanwhile, I've tried my best to create a 'Plan B', just in case, but I have nothing concrete in place.
I am terrified and have horrible visions of receiving an email from the hiring manager or HR advising that there's a problem. I haven't lied, hidden anything and have no logical reason to think that this might happen, but nevertheless I am filled with dread and anxiety. Has anyone been in a similar situation? How did you cope? Is it normal to feel this way?
Thank you in advance
