I’m new here, and wanted to ask anyone who works at Tesco how you actually get a job there. My daughter has decent qualifications but whenever she has tried the Tesco website to apply for a job, she is directed towards their website which asks specific questions such as What would you do in this situation etc. Then she gets so far, only to be told Sorry you do not have the skills we are looking for! It is so frustrating in that obviously once you get a job there, you are trained what to do in these situations, but the fact that you do not ‘pass’ their online test does not mean that you would not be any good at working there.

I remember being told if we didn’t work hard at school, we’d end up stacking shelves in a supermarket. All I can say is, the chance would be a fine thing!

Any Tesco workers out there who could help with how to get through this online test?!

The quiz has set points for each answer in the multiple choice, if you 'pass' then your details are sent through to store to arrange interview, they are awkward questions and some of them seem like they are all right or none are rights options, tell her to keep trying and the best answers involve putting the customer first and using initiative Smile

Thanks for that, pinkblink. I shall pass that on to her.

They aren't looking for qualifications they're looking for people who can handle the types of scenarios in those questions. They're usually fairly common sense questions. Give us an example?

Not sure exactly as you have to set up an online profile to see the questions, but as Pink says, some of them seem like all the options are right, and it’s just a case of choosing the one they want you to choose, rather than actually doing what you are trained to do once you get the job.
