Just looking for some advice regarding my work situation.

Sine April I have been working on a zero hours contract. I was relatively happy with that but beginning of October the company said they were offering contracts and there were internal interviews. I attended and last week I was offered a contract which I verbally accepted, I was told by HR that my contact would be sent over in due time but given a provisional start date of the 13th. The job role for the new position was quite different but anyone on a contract was obviously going to have priority for shifts so I mainly went to the interview to ensure I was not without a job. Meanwhile I have been applying for other jobs also due to few things that have happened while I have been there.

I had an interview this week and was offered the job the following day (yesterday). It's much better job (for me) and more progression so it was a no brainer to accept. I have however now been sent a rota for next week from current work place, with the hours I would have been contacted to do, yet I haven't actually signed anything. I had emailed HR this afternoon (about and hour before I recieved the rota) saying I was declining the contract but a different department handles the rotas. I have also now emailed my line manager but she is out of office until Saturday, I tired to ring her as well. Have I breeched anything? I'm worried they're going to insist I work the shifts or something.

You haven’t breached anything as you’ve not signed your contract, but I’m order to keep things as smooth as possible I’d try to work out a notice period that works both with your old and new jobs. See what they say on Saturday, they might be annoyed but you’re not in breach.

The thing is technically I'm still on a zero hours contract (I've had weeks with no shifts whatsoever, which is fine). There are still a large number of people from the original team who didn't go for a interview, and thefore still on a zero hours contract (mostly students who don't want to commit or people who have other jobs with contracted hours already) who would actually want the shifts I have next week. It's an events based jobs so the hours have always varied. They've also put me down on days I couldn't have done - which is a whole different thread really. It's really complicated the way the whole thing has been done and we seem to have had no communication from HR or line managers.

I wouldn’t worry about it in that case, they won’t have trouble finding cover.
Good luck in your new job!

Thank you! I'm trying not to worry! Besides the lack of communication it was a really lovely place to work, just frustrating at times trying to know what's going on.

It's hard not to worry hopefully I might get an email from HR tomorrow to clear things up a little bit!
