Pregnant whilst on maternity

I’m expecting another baby and I’m still on maternity for another 2 months. I spoke to my boss already about returning to work and no problems there. But now she wants me to take on a role that will affect some people if I take it whilst being pregnant. So I’m seeing her tonight again and decided that, even though I didn’t even have my first scan yet, I will tell her. I think it will be fair to do so now as that may change her decision about my role.
I’m feeling very anxious. She was so happy during our initial conversation that I’m ready to go back and now I have to drop that bomb shell. And I’m meeting her outside of workplace, which I still don’t know is a good or a bad decisions n but I do what she asked for...
Any advice of how to feel less anxious about this? Thank you

You have a legal right to a second maternity leave so don’t worry about that aspect. Why can’t you take on the new role? Just explain your concerns about doing it while pregnant and see what she says

It’s a teaching job so if I take on a role of a class teacher rather that cover teacher, how I wanted, the current maternity cover willl loose her position, my boss will need to look for another cover very sharpish as I’m planning to work only for 3 months and the class won’t have the consistency which is important for 30 little lives. That’s why o think it’s lore fair to put it out in the open.
