Hi,

I am applying for a job this week and finishig my cv. The issue i have is that I went on maternity leave in 2014, was made redundant a month after i left, then had another baby, and then relocated to the other side of the country. At the moment I havent mentioned any of this so it looks like i just stopped working in June 2014.

Do you think I should explain this in my cv personal statement. The application process is submit cv and fill electronic applications, so no space for a covering letter or supporting info.

I suppose I could upload a cover letter along with my cv?

Any advice?

In my type of work any gaps have to be explained or you wont get an interview for safer recruitment reasons.

I put worked at such and such for these dates, then put the dates I stayed at home as if it was another job with a quick explination that I didnt return to that job and stayed at home then my current job. I also put a bit about it in my personal statment, bot a lot just a few lines.

You could try restructuring your CV so that the good bits are in the top third. You could also use headers referring to skills pertinent to the job spec, so they can see straight off how qualified you are?? Try googling different types of CV so you can sing up the positives.
