I have a job for a local community project which is 30 Saturdays a year. I have M.E. and so have very little energy, and sometimes really struggle to get to the job. The rest of the week I work from home so that's okay. I can't book any Saturdays off as holidays because it's only 30 a year, so you are supposed to be there for those ones. Which I totally get.
The thing is I am now pregnant with my first baby :) :) :) and I'm wondering whether it is time to resign from this job and just continue to work from home? I really enjoy this job and I get on well with everyone there. It's also nice to go out to work one day a week as I am at home the rest of the time. The money is of no consequence, I just enjoy the job.
Am I going to be too exhausted to go to work once the baby is here? I would get maternity leave, but it would be an absolute pittance payment compared to what I would get if I resigned and got maternity allowance from my self employed work. Although I don't think this is going to be much either! Like I said, the money isn't the issue, it's just whether I would be too exhausted to continue to go to work? Also I would like to keep weekends for family time once I have my own baby.
What do you think Mumsnetters??
