Work

I Resigned & I'm Freaking Out!!

Oh gosh. I resigned today after having my flexible working request rejected three times since January (I've revised them each time). I've worked for the company for 11 years. My husband is very supportive and whilst we can manage on his wage alone, me resigning will reduce our disposal income by £1000 a month. I'm having a major 'what the hell have I done' moment but want more time with the children, less stress and I've been very unhappy in my job for the past 9 months.

Please tell me this feeling will pass?!

Tomorrow when you wake up with your bubba I'm sure you'll know 100% that you've done the right thing Smile

Remain calm. You have done the right thing. You planned whether you could afford it, you thought about it hard. You're just feeling a bit adrift as its a huge change.

You need a little time to 'de-work'. Then you'll feel better. To help, try to spend as much time outside, in the sunshine (if you have any).

Change is good! It's normal to feel terrified. I felt that way when I quit my job to go to uni. It ended up being the best decision ever!

This feeling will pass! I did the same thing in December, yes we've had to make some changes but ive never regretted it.

I was made redundant after I had twins and DH salary was 1500. By the time we had taken out mortgage bills and food our disposable income was bordering on zero but we coped. Good luck x

I have just decided to "retire" from my role rather than go on maternity leave and return in 6 months. Currently feeling "the fear" - especially at 3am - so lots of empathy from me. It's for the best.

Good luck OP.
