i am sinking into the deepest of despair i have a disciplinary next week i misinterpretated a company policy i have no training on and after following procedures 2 other managers had already done,i was working with a junior colleage at time of dispute who insisted it was fine. For these actions when done correctly there is a staff reward scheme to claim vouchers the other members (2managers 1 junior) claimed alot of vouchers i claim non as unaware of procedures and no interest in scheme.1 manager resigned 1 suspended with me the junior staff member claim the vouchers i should have had.i had a suspision something was wrong tried to save evidence but it was used to claim my vouchers and had asked other manager if ok they said yes.have incurred roughly £300 losses to company through my error the other managers incurred more and claimed. terrified i am getting sacked 12 years service 6 monthe pregnant extremley stressed and under strain i want to die feel like i have let my children down dont know what to do

Didn't want to read and run (fall asleep, that is)

I do not have a legal mind but hang in there!

If you are sure you did no wrong and your naivety was abused surely the disciplinary committee may see reason? ??

A virtual hug till some better response comes along!

I'm dirty, I just can't make any sense of the OP.

I don't understand, everyone was fraudulently claiming vouchers except you, and another staff member claimed yours and said you did it? Did I understand that right?

  1. Assuming you are not a member of a trade union: you need to get yourself to a CAB or Law Centre for help with the disciplinary and potentially an Employment Tribunal, should it come to that.

  1. If the worst happens and you are sacked, your long employment history will mean you have sufficent national insurance contributions to claim Maternity Allowance. This comes to £135.45 per week and can be claimed from 11 weeks before your due date.

Good luck

big hugs. Calm down because you'll never think clearly while you're upset. Go to the CAB and sit down and work through it all.

I am not a lawyer or employment law specialist, so can't give any advice on whether you did anything wrong by someone else claiming your vouchers, or anything, or whether the company has any liability for failing to ensure appropriate training - you need specialist advice.

But I will say this - no job loss is worth dying over! It's shit and it's stressful, but it isn't the end of the world and you need to take a deep breath and start to work through it.

take care. xx

sorry to hear that. If it was a genuine mistake and you can demonstrate no financial gain along with long service then hopefully should be no more than a warning.

Jo didn't want to read and run please keep your chin up you need to think of your baby and you do deserve to be a mother. Try not to worry to much as her hermione says it will hopefully be no more than a warning

Are you sure you're well enough - can you not ask for hearing to be delayed until
Gp thinks you're well enough to handle it?

Or would that not help even if it could be done?

they can do disciplinary in my absence so i'd rather be there to try to get them to see my side

Oh dear... any chance of an appeal? Did you go to CAB as others suggested?

Report
jo9055 · 03/10/2012 00:54

will appeal as i feel it may be pregnancy related other employee did something similar but he got a warning i feel my dismissal is unduly harsh after 12 years of excellent service just worry how to provide for my 2 boys with 1 on the way when it will be extremley difficult for me to get another job with gross misconduct against me
