" it was a really good application and I am pleased to confirm that I will be in touch soon to arrange an interview" SO why doesnt he call me ?

The waiting is killing me ! I have applied for the job 2 weeks ago. 1 week ago I have contacted him and he sent me the mail above.

What should I do ?? Its an interview for my dream job !! Could he be messing me around ?

I had an interview over a year and a half ago and haven't heard back. I wonder...

So do you think he was humoring me ?

He could have gone on holiday, been off sick or been trying to co-ordinate diaries with a colleague... He sounded quite positive and he did email you (easier to give someone the brush off by email rather than phone).

I am sure the is a reasonable explanation. Some people ate just bloody slow at getting back!

I would drop him an email, saying that you were wondering if he had had a chance to find some time in his diary, and that you are still very keen to come in for an interview. The worst that can happen is that you sound keen.

He has probably been very busy, is incredibly disorganised and needed sign off from ten people before inviting you for interview...

Spend my life on the other side of the fence as a PA kicking directors up the bum reminding them a million and one times of what they need to and how they can't keep interview candidates dangling on a thread for weeks on end. Unfortunately, work life isn't simple these days and there are a million and one valid reasons why people don't do what they say they're going to do. Drives me bloody nuts...

How old is he, 12?

Do you really want to work for someone who doesn't do what he says he's going to do then adds you as a friend on Facebook?!

Sigh...

Why has he added you as a friend? Confused

Hopefully your fb profile didn't have anything in it that you wouldn't want a potential employer to see...

Oh, of course! Hmm, block him.

Are you kidding? I hope you didn't accept his request! Would you normally expect to receive friend requests from complete strangers, which is effectively what this person is? What kind of copany is this? At least it gives you a good excuse to phone him under the guise of telling him that he seems to have send you a friend request in error!

Whoops, spelling all over the place there!

It is a famous international organisation and they have a facebook page, I have posted a comment and he sent a friend request. I have nothing to hide on facebook page so no, not really a big deal. I just want an interview Sad

I think that is even more odd. A request to Like their page, I could understand (from their point of view) but not a friend request. Not very professional. Maybe he fancies you?

shaketheshame · 27/01/2012 20:01

No I'm sure he doesn't !! Smile, I wish I could tell you the name of the organisation so you could look at it..I'm sure you'll understand...Oh well I just have to be patient !
