Getting shoes for incredibly swollen feet?

Mum (80) has terribly swollen feet (fluid retention). Has done for about 3 weeks. GP has seen them (weekly), but doesn’t want to try diuretics. Only advice is to elevate, Mum does this sometimes, but often forgets...

She is in a nursing home. Rather unstable on her feet, but this is getting worse now with the swollen feet and now no slippers/shoes that fit.

Any suggestions? Are “Hotter” shoes likely to work (the ones wth Velcro adjustments) or are they likely to not have enough adjustment and something specialist (hopefully orderable from Amazon) would be better?

I want something that she could wear, very adjustable and not put any pressure on her feet. Being vaguely attractive wouldn’t hurt too... (a lot to ask!)

Cosyfeet seem to be what most people have (I'm a carer)

My dad has terribly swollen feet, and I buy Cosyfeet slippers (he can't wear shoes anymore) for him from Amazon.

The nursing home staff should be reminding her to put her feet up as often as possible as well though

We get Cosyfeet for my MIL too. They sell extra velcro pieces for very swollen feet.

Some styles are more attractive than others.

Thanks very much. Cosyfeet (Velcro sandals - a bit more attractive) ordered. If they don’t seem suitable, will try another style.

Interestingly she had a very similar pair of slippers, but hated them Confused. She likes slip-ons, but not very practical with badly swollen feet. They looked terrible today Sad.

Will look for the extension pieces - they might be needed.
