UK holiday locations

I want to take my mum and dad on holiday for a week sometime this summer/autumn, and I'm trying to think of suitable UK destinations. They are both 85, and mum can walk about half a mile using her rollator. Dad is fine on his feet, but gets out of breath so no hills. Within 2 hours drive of Coventry. Somewhere where there's enough in that walking distance to keep them entertained without me having to drive somewhere every day, but happy to drive out a couple of times during the week (to eg National Trust or similar).

Does anyone have any ideas? They don't have any particular interests but will get bored if there's nothing to do (whereas I would LOVE to have a week with nothing to do, but this holiday is about them!)

I'd also be looking for selfcatering accommodation with at least one ground floor ensuite double bedroom (plus two other bedrooms) close enough to local interest points for Mum to walk there and back, with parking - but once I have a few ideas for destinations I can have a go at accommodation.

Thanks for any suggestions. I know it's a bit vague, sorry!

Llandudno? Promenade, pier, shops, Great Orme (by cable car), theatre, restaurants... Perhaps a hotel on the promenade with good views from lounge, for when they get tired.
Conwy Castle few miles away.

...forgot to add, Bodysgallen Hall nearby has lovely gardens worth a visit.

How about Cardiff? Lots to do around the city centre - castle, museum, Bute Park but then easy to get buses to Barry/ Penarth, the Bay, St Fagans museum of Welsh life, or do bus tours. In September the Waverly paddle steamer will be doing excursions from Penarth.

Ah, I do know Llandudno, that might work well and has seaside. I hadn't considered Cardiff, or a city at all actually, but that opens up a new line of thought ...

Thanks for those ideas, more very welcome!

East Anglia? It's flat. Either Hunstanton, nice drives and bus rides along the coast, day out at Sandringham or Holkham etc.

Or Cambridge nice town with lots to do, nice to walk round, and a few national trust places such as Anglesey abbey and wicken fen.

Take a look at the Just Go Holiday brochure. They specialise in coach holidays for the elderly and will have selected both destinations and hotels with older people in mind.
