How can I get DS(9) to REMEMBER to bring stuff home from school aaaaarrrrrghghghg

DS is 9 and has started middle school (we have them here 9-13). So he is now catapulted into a world where he has to change classrooms, take PE kit on the right days, remember to go to his cello lesson at the right time (which changes each week) and so on.

At his last school the childminder would meet him at the end of the day and send him back in for bags/jumpers/cello whatever.

Now he has to remember himself and walk round to her house. In a week so far he has left his packed lunch bag behind every other day, forgotten to hand over a letter saying when his music lessons started so we missed the first one, and now has left a new jumper somewhere at school, having failed to remember he was wearing one when he went in...

Any tips? I am not encouraged by friends saying their 15 year olds are the same...

Do him a timetable to prompt a check ? We write in dd's diary the times of her music lessons or any odd notes to remember. ds is dyspraxic but remembers his stuff 9 times out of 10 .
