Any insights into Cumnor House in Danehill near Haywards Heath? Thinking about moving from north london to start reception in Sept. Seems like a lovely well rounded school with great academic results. Keen to hear any views.

I know a few families who have been there happily. Destinations are all private if this is relevant to you.

One of my brothers went there. So did Piers Morgan.

A super school with incredible grounds, facilities and staff from Nursery (newly built and rather splendid) to Year Eight. My two were wonderfully happy there and have both gone on to do excellently at senior school. A caring, nurturing and friendly school where children can be children for that little bit longer. Where they can climb trees, swing over the lake, excell in their own fields and flourish academically as well as pastorally. Aim High, Be Kind, Dare to be Different is the school motto.
Well worth a look!

My two boys (Reception and Year 3) started at Cumnor cumnor.co.uk/ in Sept 2017 and they love it. The headmaster, his wife and the whole teaching and support team is truly inspirational. The school motto is Aim High, Be Kind, Dare to be Different and that feeling really does run through the heart of the school. We moved from Notting Hill in London where we loved the local school, but the grounds and facilities at Cumnor are in another league. Brand new science and nursery blocks, indoor and outdoor pool on site, the most beautiful grounds for sports and play. There is space to breathe! And because so many have moved here from London or other areas, they are also incredibly good (school and existing parents) at being inclusive and welcoming to the parents as well as the kids - but without being pushy! As you can tell, I am a fan!

Thank you for your (rave!) reviews. My husband and I think the school is wonderful, from what we’ve seen, and it’s really good to get some independent views from parents. There are lots of good schools around us in london but the fees are verging on ridiculous for nursery/pre-prep and the facilities are generally lacking! Cumnor looks magnificent 😃

I think they are having an Open day on the 18th May, but you are always welcomed if you want to view the school on any day.
Email the registrar, Cecilia Desmond.
