Wimbledon Park primary school

Hi. I have a couple of questions about Wimbledon park primary school.

  1. Does anyone know why just suddenly recently the staff turn over became so high (over 10 teachers left in one term!?) at Wimbledon Park primary school?

  1. Some of my mummy friends told me that the communication with the teachers and parents are kept to very minimal. Some parents were apparently told by the reception teachers "please dont expect to hear from us how your children are doing, unless something really bad happens. One teacher looks after 30 Reception children."

Does any parents who send your children find it difficult to communicate with the teachers at Wimbledon Park primary school?

Thank you in advance for your kind help.

I don't know the school in question, but point 2) is a standard 'your child is not at nursery any more, you won't get daily updates unless there's a problem' Reception teacher speech, IME.

Hi Thomas,

  1. I know of at least 3 members of staff who were poached by private schools.

  1. I agree with TheLongRoad.

Both my children have been very happy at WPPS. I am not at all surprised at their Outstanding OFSTED rating & from the primary school official results (released on 16th December) that they are not only the top performing primary school in Merton, but among the top 30 performing primary schools in all of London, and almost in the top 1% of primary schools nationally.

The staff work so hard & care so much.
