\link{http://www.bebo.com/bebo} under schools

and www.ratemyteachers.co.uk (the latter seems a bit hard to get to at the moment)

Heard a discussion about them on the radio this morning and was appalled

I think the local police forces should have a look at some of the pages on there.

We have a problem with kids hanging around local schools at night, as we all know the majority of them are well behaved just bored but there is always the odd one or two who vandalise, smash things etc. On bebo it actually shows these kids photos taken on the school grounds

My DD and her pals used to be on bebo but its all chain mail telling the posters that because they opened the mail they most repost to 20 friends or at 9.57 tonight a ghost of a girl will appear under your bed and kill you".
Lovely stuff, NOT.

ahem, some of us do rather well

skips of humming 4.5

I have to say that many of the reviews are spot on.

THough to be serious there is the potential for abuse. Mind you the kids most likely to hate staff, are seldom the ones who would long onto a website. They are more likely to smash your windows or key your car

Just been on Bebo, and out of interest looked at the school I last taught in. Followed the links to the pupils personal bebo site things and was completely .

Some of these children leave such double lives, if their parents saw some of these ..... they would be horrified!

as a teacher I think it is a lot of stuff about nothing, kids have always rated there teachers and arealso very vocal within school about who they doa nd don't think is a good teacher. I know our headmaster and management regularly ask the kids what they think of our performanace in the classroom and as a successful hardworking passionate teacher I ahve nothing to fear from pupil feedback, even daft bitchy feedback if thatis whatis going on on this website.

talking about ratemyteacher, don;t know what bebo is. I do know of a teacher in our staffroom who has voted for himself on rate my teacher!
