Anger management course

I work sometimes with a group of 15 year olds who have been expelled from school. I'm a teacher but we offer them an education under different circumstances to school. Anyway today we had a session on anger management and i have to sat it was fab. an ex paratrooper runs the course but he's also worked as a bouncer. The principles he was talking about and showing the lads were fab and one of the lads said he'd used one of the techniques last night during an argument which pleased us all.

Just wanted to say how fab i thought it was (next time you lose your temper count back from 23-don't ask me why cos its a long winded explanation to do with parts of the brain- but it works)

That actually sounds like a great idea.
Helping them to control their tempers at 15 has to be a good thing.

I'm going to do the backwards from 23 thing cos atm I'm walking about with a self written note in my back pocket reminding myself why I don't want to shout and how to handle it better.

Has Mr Paratrooper written a book and would he like to move in with me? I won't have any sex with him but I will wash his pants. Grin

lol frumpy at the pants. don't think he's written a book as he's just a local trainer bod. these boys have asbo's etc and really are a risk in future unless they're helped now

Shame. I'd like him for myself, just for the anger management mind. Glad its proving helpful, wish it could be part of mainstream ed.

TBH have always been deeply sceptical when I hear that a child has attended one of these courses Blush Gald to know there are some good ones, although of course the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Hope you reap the benefits.

I've been trying to persuade the youth project worker who is in charge of the project I work on to keep this chap on for longer as he's making a difference to the lads but is only with them for 1 morning a week for 10 weeks. Feel that they'd reqally benefit if they saw him for longer. Powers that be say it all boils down to the pound though- shame really
