They were in last week.
No news from school certainly no whoo hoo we're excellent fanfares. Last inspection was a 3 two years ago.

And our form teacher has not been seen since.

No weekly newsletter from Head on Friday.

How long does report take and when would you expect to hear from school over a teacher sickness?

DCs school was inspected in November. Think we had a newsletter from the head teacher within a couple of days which didn't give details but suggested what the grade was. Think the actual report was about 2 weeks after indirection.

About two weeks for the report. They can't tell you anything before it's published as it's confidential.

Sickness of teacher most likely unrelated. Ofsted don't sack teachers or get involved in an individual's capability issues etc. if teacher off for more than a wek then I'd be informing parents of arrangements for cover etc

Agree with team Edward...longer for report if it's gone down from a 3.

It can take up to 6 weeks - and the school won't be able to say anything about the result until the report is confirmed. The framework has changed recently, and is regarded to be tougher, so if the school was a 3 last time and hasn't improved, the news isn't likely to be great.

That's a sensible point countrybump

And so is no news is bad news when it comes to Ofsted

We are expecting an Ofsted report to be published this week - they visited the week before last, so two weeks is about right.

When our school was last inspected they expected all teaching staff to be present even if they would normally have time off sick! So perhaps you may be jumping to wrong conclusions here.

with Ofsted the advance information they give the school is very strictly confidential and Ofsted absolutely forbids the school from telling anyone about it (as it is subject to revision). Then when it is finalised Ofsted REQUIRE the school to tell all the parents!

So no news, is actually, no news....

Our recent report took about 3weeks to arrive in bookbags. The grade was a good one (can't remember what they got).

Our last report (earlier this year) took about 6 weeks to come out. The school can't officially tell parents as it's confidential.

(the school got a higher grading than previously so it was good news)

New opinion required.

Governors have called an evening meeting to disclose the ofsted report to parents.
Does that ring alarm bells?

Are you already an academy? If not, you are about to be.

Really? Give me some idea what to google or search for on MN to read about the topic.......

We're not failing academically. Above average SATS.
But probably not as good as they should be for the cohort.

Thanks tiggy
Meeting next wk. I did think it was a quick turn around on the results. Quicker than neighbouring schools from inspection to notice about the meeting. And a weeks notice about the meeting too.

Head is old, to put it bluntly. I am expecting a forced retirement. But not sure why this requires a meeting.

3 across board. Met chair governors. Explains a lot. Pompous twat.

Bearing in mind it is a thankless task, poisoned chalice etc, Anyone know how to evict a chair of governors?

No retirement of head mores the pity.

you did need to understand that the new Ofsted criteria means a lot of schools are being classed as 3 when using the old standards they would have met the grade for a 2. What are your personal feelings? How are you dc progressing /happy in the school? There are far more important indicators than Ofsted's opinion
