How to find a tutor?

DD1 is going into year 5 this year and so we are starting to think about secondary schools. She's a bright girl and does well at school, so she will probably do okay at either of our closest secondary schools, both of which have good and outstanding components to their latest Ofsteds. We are in a postcode that qualifies for an out of area shot at the 11+ for the Watford Grammar schools and we figure we might as well give it a crack. She's not hugely fussed about going to a Grammar school, and either am I really, but I'd like her to have a chance. She may also be in a position to have a shot at a music place as well.
I tried trying to go through the verbal reasoning stuff with her myself, but it's not going to work, so to give her the best shot we need to find a tutor.
Does anyone have any ideas how to find a decent one? I've heard more than a few horror stories!

Ask at the school whether any of the teachers offer tutoring out of school time.
I would be wary of your plan though. If she needs help to take the entry exam, she may need help all the way through.
Just saying like.
