Hi, I know this is probubly the wrong place to post this, but wasn't sure where it should go.

Anyway, I'm looking for a really good quality CD player and chunky head phones that cover the ears. It's for my 6 year old daughter. She has problems with auditory processing and is going to be having sound therapy soon, so she'll need them for that. It's also so that she can listen to story CD's on them.

I've looked at CD players, and they all come with tiny little ear phones that fit into the ears. These would be no good for my daughter.

If you know where I can find some, please let me know. Thanks. Smile

Thanks, these seem fine. They have good reviews too. Will they fit any CD player?

Your therapist should recommend which ones, if you're retraining the brain (e.g. for dyslexia) it's important to get that right, or the point is lost. Some years ago we used Grado SR-80 headphones. I remember thinking how much more they cost than the CD player, Sony D-EJ100. It may be possible to get some second-hand (change the covers for hygiene) but it's unlikely that 'normal' headphones will do. We also didn't use the headphones for anything else until the training was over.

Thank you, I'll ask her then. She won't be needing them for a while as she's doing a Brain gym programme at the moment, then she'll move on to Johansen sound therapy. I just thought if we could get them now, she can listen to story tapes.
