Mothers of Britannia:

I've been tasked to let as many people as possible know about The Roman Fort Project, which is based in NW England and plans to reconstruct a full-sized Roman Fort to help children understand history and archaeology from primary through to A-Level. If your children have ever had a Roman Tour of Chester, it is the same organisation.

The project is in the final of a competition run by Barclays Bank to win £50,000 which would allow them to start constructing the fort at the end of the summer if they win.

If you want to support these guys and their amazing idea, can you please vote for them here: www.takeonesmallstep.co.uk/Vote/3932

and also you can vote by text message (for free!) by texting the word ROMAN to 62555.

Thanks in advance for your support.

I will be voting for them, my eldest has "Marched for the glory of Rome!" around Chester and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Where will the fort be, if they win? Do they want child volunteers? Smile

The fort will be based on one of a few possible sites all very close to Chester, although it's not been confirmed yet. Thanks for the support, please spread the word!
We're planning a Roman summer camp at some point, as well as open days and events so there will be plenty of opportunities to join in!
