Want a handwriting font to make worksheets

DD is still in her nursery year so hasn't started learning to write at school yet. She can write her own name easily and fairly small. She's now starting to want to write other words. We've got her the Jolly Phonic workbooks but she doesn't like having to write the same letter over and over again and says she wants to write words inside.

I know she's probably better off practising individual letters but I thought I would print off some worksheets anyway with the words she wants to write as I don't want to dampen her enthusiasm for writing.

Can anyone tell me where to find a font that will have the letters in dots with arrows to show the direction of the pen? I've tried looking for some free ones but there don't seem to be any?

The primary school DD will go to next September teaches cursive from Reception so do I show her to print or go straight into cursive? She's a bright button so would easily be able to adapt once she's started Reception.

I'd suggest that you definitely start with cursive writing if that's what she'll be doing at school

Is there another type of cursive writing? I am asking because the one on the website is more or less the one I was taught in school in France (we are taught more fancy capital letters) but DS is in year one and after reception of scrit writing they are changing over to cursive...

But not cursive as I know it!?!? it seems to be a mixture of cursive and script. there are no top curl on l and f, k, h etc.. but the bottom curl in the f is there (the wrong way thought) and in the g and j. and the b and the p for example are written in script style just made up to join. I dont know if I have explained properly but then it does baffle me!!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Try a google search on "Jardotty" for a cursive one (and Jarman for the solid equivalent) and (IIRC) "National Dotted First" for script.
