I listed a few buy it now only items but will be away Christmas week. Do I just add this to my description of the item? I don't want someone buying it on the 23rd hoping to get it for Christmas I am not there! 😊.

Are there any security issues with doing this?

Thanks!

No one would buy on the 23rd and expect it for Christmas, surely. You could add a note, out of courtesy, but I wouldn’t worry too much.

Yes I would put a note as people will start complaining and it will affect your rating as a seller.

There are holiday settings you can use which you can either hide completely your listings when you are away or that tell buyers there will be a delay in sending out the item until you are back (you can add date). If you go to your ebay homepage they are under selling tools near the bottom of the right hand side column.

Put in BIG writing. THESE WILL NOT ARRIVE UNTIL AFTER XMAS. ( People will still probably ignore it ,but at least you tried 😆

Thanks everyone. Holiday settings only appear to be absolve to people who have an eBay shop.

I've stuck a bold and underlined message on here listings and how that's ok!!

End your items, you can do it in bulk. I take all mine down a couple of weeks before Christmas because of problems with deliveries. You can relist from your unsold items list after the holidays. Avoids a lot of grief as people don't read descriptions, they look at the photo, buy it and then want it the week before they bought it. And that is without the added problems of seasonal post.
