Question re postal tracking

I bought 48 hour tracked postage via click and drop to get the additional compensation cover option. Took it into SO as required (not PO) at about 3pm yesterday. I saw the guy scan it, but this morning it's still only showing pre-notification 'The sender has told us to expect the item' which is time marked at the time I bought the postage at 1pm. Is this usual? Feeling a bit concerned as it was a BNWT wig so fairly expensive - and the whole reason I sent it this way rather than my usual 2nd class signed for at PO. The SO doesn't issue printed PoP - all I've got is a hand written ticket to show it was handed over, which he only gave me as I insisted I needed something.

I've had a couple of tracked items delivered to me recently through royal mail where the tracking never changed throughout. One sender even messaged me to apologise for the apparent delay as the tracking info never changed but I received the parcel that morning.
