Tips on Selling Designer Sunglasses?

I have a couple of pairs that I've re-listed for auction with as much detail as possible (e.g. style number) and lots of pics but they just don't seem to sell whereas when I search completed listings similar sunglasses have sold pretty well (e.g. over 100 pounds).

They're new, good condition, and come with their original (branded) case and cleaning cloth.

I'm not expecting them to go for tons - I'd be happy with about 50 quid (which would be about 1/2 or a third of their original value) - but am loathe to start them at 99p.

Anyone have any tips? And is there anywhere other than eBay that would be worth trying?

Sell them in the summer? If you don't need the money immediately that is.

Are you quite a new seller? People may be reluctant to buy an expensive item from someone without much of a record.

Thanks Penny. Last time I tried was in summer and neither sold.

I think at the time I was selling on my newer account which didn't have much feedback - using my OH's this time and he has tons of feedback so will keep my fingers crossed.

I wouldn't buy designer items on eBay unless the seller had extensive positive history

there was a thread on here from a poster that had listed authentic RayBans but the listing had been pulled by eBay, because she couldn't prove the authenticity, so be prepared for that.

Never start an auction at less that you would accept for the item.
But then again, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, so if you start with a higher start price and they don't sell then you may have to consider your pricing.

I agree, that Christmas time isn't really the best time to be selling sunglasses!

Why not wait until next Summer and try Facebook selling? I don't use it personally, but I imagine it might be a better idea for this type of item if you want a minimum price for them?

Thanks. Yeah I thought Xmas might be a silly time to sell them but on the flip side a lot of people go on sunny holidays around this time so thought it might be worth a shot, especially since didn't have much luck in the summer. Am doing a proper clean out atm so would really like to get them out of here asap.
